Technology in the Elementary Classroom - 2001

Teachers will focus on the variety of technology applications appropriate for the elementary classroom. How to teach and assess concepts using technology tools, such as multimedia, spreadsheets and online resources will be demonstrated. How to use electronic communication for ongoing coaching, data analysis of diagnostic feedback, and Internet research for subject development will be integrated into the session's activities. Participants will receive advanced training in software applications to prepare them to create an instructional product for use in their teaching. Using easily available software applications and web material, teachers will create lessons in reading skills development, science, social studies, and/or mathematics using technology a a support. Academic Content Standards and best practices will be emphasized.
