Summary:
This unit distills important points and facts regarding major ancient civilizations. The students learn through researching a civilization, presenting their findings, and taking notes on the projects of their classmates.
Grade Level: 6

Standards:
I have been looking for a unit that would concisely bring together all the significant descriptors of the major ancient civilizations for my students.I felt this unit should be interactive and involve all students throughout the unit.

Learning and Teaching Activities:
This learning is aligned with the CA State Learner Standards and builds on a continuum of Social Studies skills and knowledge.

Students are required to produce a group report, take notes, and demonstrate mastery of the knowledge and skills addressed.

Outcomes and Assessment:
Students will refine their learning skills in Language Arts (Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening). Additionally, they will learn generalities and details about the major ancient civilizations.
